Adrieanna & Destinee

December Spotlight 2025

This month’s student-mentor spotlight is mentor Adrieanna Robinson and  mentee, Destinee Adams, from Yulee High School. They have been matched since April 2023.

Adrieanna ROBINSON, Mentor

What do you consider to be your hometown?
Fernandina Beach.

What made you decide to mentor with Take Stock?
I was in the program in high school and I wanted to provide that meaningful experience for another student.

How many students have you mentored?
Just one so far.

What have you gained from mentoring Destinee?
I’ve gained a sense of fullfillment from being able to support and encourage Destinee in her journey. It’s been meaninful to watch her confidence and decision-making develop.

DESTINEE ADAMS, YULEE High School

Why did you want to apply for Take Stock?
I wanted to apply to Take Stock as I saw the many resources this program offered. After going through my interview and meeting everyone I saw how much everyone cared about seeing students succeed.

What have you learned from your relationship with your mentor, Adrieanna?
Ms. Adrieanna has taught me a lot. She has shown me that if no one else cares, she will. She has supported me through my decision to change careers. She has always had my back with everything and is really easy to confide in.

What is your favorite memory from TSIC?
My favorite memory from TSIC is taking a tour of FSU and FAMU. This was my first college tour and I learned a lot about how college works and the many things available to college students. I had a great time with my friends who are also in Take Stock.

What are your plans after you graduate high school and TSIC?
I am currently undecided. I am waiting on my college acceptances to help me decide where I want to attend.
